Prevent Summer Social Regression with Our Intensive Groups!
The summer doesn’t only cause children, teens, and young adults to regress academically, but socially as well. School often offers structure and an environment where they can easily socialize with others daily. However, when summer comes and that structure is no longer in place, they may start using those skills less and less until they eventually lose them all together. One source explains how “…children can also experience summer slide when it comes to their social skills. Long term, this may be a more far-reaching issue that can hinder your child’s success as an adult.” (Childsuccesscenter, 2018). If these skills are not constantly growing and developing with the individual, they may fall behind socially as they get older, causing them to want to avoid socializing, getting a job, and becoming independent all together.
The sooner these skills can be learned, the better, and the Support for Students Growth Center and College Life Skills Program is able to help not only prevent this regression but help them get ahead. It is so important that we are even offering an additional week of executive functioning and social skills group to help ensure children, teens, and young adults are not only prepared, but confident.

We help teach them skill they will need so they can be successful in the work and social world and in life as well as help them learn how to balance independent life on their own, and other life skills, social skills, and emotional maturity. If you or your young adult is struggling with being proactive in gaining these skills or the transition into college and adulthood, CollegeLSP has the tools to aid them in achieving and generalizing such skills.
